ABOUT US

MY STORY

Welcome to United Kids, my name is Gurpreet (Gabby) Padda and I am the founder of United Kids.

Our first nursery was opened in September 2018, due to its success our second nursery was launched in April 2019.

I come from a corporate and legal background. I graduated from University with a honours degree in Law and studied Legal Practice. I trained at a top Law firms in the UK and went onto pursue a career for 15 years. I have also worked extensively in the insurance sector for large global companies.

Throughout my life, my mother has been role model. She has been my inspiration to work hard and pursue an academic path. She was a well educated young woman who achieved so much in her short life, sadly she passed when I was 5 years old.

Dealing with the loss of mother at childhood made me and siblings form very close bonds, which united us as children, as a family and a community. We went onto build our lives together from childhood into adulthood. United Kids was founded based on my experiences to work alongside the community to promote our core values that instil respect, diversity, tolerance and inclusion.

We recognise that each child is unique and develops at their own pace. Our belief is that each child's individuality should be embraced and respected to enable every child to achieve their potential to the fullest.

I am very proud of our nurseries, our mission at United Kids is to provide high quality care, creating a safe, loving, caring, nurturing, stimulating fun and enriching environment for our children. I strongly believe in providing exploring and learning opportunities through play that are filled with knowledge and insight that enhances our children's development giving the best start in life and education.

We follow (EYFS) framework and United Kids Staff put a major emphasis on developing our children’s personal, social and emotional development, communication and language development and their physical development. To support these areas of learning we promote play both indoors and outdoors.

ABOUT UNITED KIDS CHILDCARE

Together we build strong communities

We here at United Kids provide exciting, innovative care for our children, in an environment that presented plentiful opportunities for play, interaction and development, at their own pace and in their own space, simply because we wanted them to have the best possible start in life.
We work hard to make sure our children have the right skills for school. Each child is unique and we individually nurture each and every one to make sure they are the best they can possibly be.
We have created a nursery environment that is safe, and learning opportunities were are plentiful.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is our top priority. All our practitioners are highly qualified. They undergo rigorous checks to ensure they are suitable people for the role they have in the nursery. Every member of staff have a number of checks that need to be completed before starting at our nursery: a ‘Enhanced Criminal Record Check’, 2 references from previous employers, a health checks and a phased interview process.
All staff complete a Safeguarding Module, First Aid Paediatric course and Food Hygiene to ensure all our ‘Health and Safety’ procedures are met.

All of these measures ensure we provide a safe environment where babies and toddler can strive in their development, grow in their own confidence and become resilient – supporting them to reach their full potential.

Parent Partnership

We believe it is essential to build a strong and positive relationship with parents, as we understand that parents are the experts of their own child. Staff work hard to develop open and honest relationships with each family, by keeping parents updated on Nursery life and provide lots of opportunities to share information about the child’s home life.

We have an online system which enables parents to understand their child's development and progress regularly. Parents are able to contribute to their child’s learning journey through observations and activities they have completed with them at home.

As part of this developing relationship with the setting your child will be allocated a key person, this will enable you to have a direct member of staff to talk to and put forward any questions or concerns you may have.

Cultural Capital

At United Kids Childcare our ethos is to unite the community and provide the children in our care the best opportunities we can offer. We feel children need a variety of different experiences, to understand the community and world around them, and to support their development in the Prime Areas. To enable us to provide these vital experiences we work very closely with the local community and other agencies - visits to local parks, libraries, shops and workshops for parents participate in.

In our settings, babies and toddlers have opportunities to participate in activities around: music, art, dance-movement, baby massage, sensory play, treasure baskets such as Heuristic play, outdoor activities such as football, forest school, sensory walks.
